First and foremost: There are still a few tickets left for tomorrow night's 🎉🪩 DYNASTY NEW YEAR'S EVE SHOW! 🎉🪩 We have a crazy good line-up of comedians (Reggie Watts! Aparna Nancherla! More!) starting at 9pm and going until the clock strikes 2025! The Dynasties will be bringing the 🎺 house band vibes 🎸, there will be ceremonies of release and manifestation for the new year, 🍾 a champagne toast 🥂, lots of laughs, and so much more! We encourage you to dress up 🎩 (formal wear, costumes, sweats) because life is more enchanting that way, and we very much encourage that. People that have come to past NYE celebrations at Dynasty all agree: “It’s like, THE BEST!” How do we know? THEY TELL US. And we don’t even write down the direct quotes because that feels intrusive and we want everyone to feel welcome and safe here. That’s what we call... The Dynasty Difference!™ It really will be the most fun and it will sell out so get your tickets ASAP and we’ll see you then! 🪩🎉
Now... ‘Tis the last newsie of the year of our gourd 2024. This year has been thicc with all the stuff of life. The goods n’ bads n’ banals n’ bounties. We personally feel like we’ve been expanding and contracting for years- you do all the work of growth and then a new lil' breeze of life wafts in and somehow knocks you over and you gotta do it again but each time you have a little more muscle memory, a little more strength and a few more “well I survived THAT” stories. Ultimately, as we, VanJam, stare into the swirling portal of the future, we’re feeling… fortified?

Fortified by our amazing team of Darlings behind the scenes that make everything happen here, the Darlings on the stage that make everything happen here, and the Darlings in the audience (YOU!) that make everything happen here. (We also have a new DYNASTY DARLING shirt that we launched just in time for this sentiment. Now that’s a marketing plan! Actually, is that a marketing plan? If you know, let us know!) See how it takes all of us to make things happen? We have a hunch that’s not JUST at our theater we call Dynasty Typewriter, but maybe… that’s in the whole WORLD. Community, baby!
We’re facing a political future that really feels like the word “regime” is going to be fitting (great sounding word is the best we can give to that. A fancy soft g to usher in the blunt ugliness of what may come), many crises of all sizes in all spaces, and we are certainly not blind to UnPLeAsaNt potentialities. And yet! AND YET! We (batten your eyes so they don’t rolllll right out your ears) are bolstered by LOVE! ❤️ Laughable, stupid, beautiful, wonderful love. We are honored to have been and be a place where humans get up on the stage and express, and viewers connect, and we can release or at least reframe some of the tension (both literal and existential) existence gives us.
Maybe it’s the dumpster fires, maybe it’s the decaying layer of atmosphere between us and the sun… or maybe it’s hope? But the future looks BRIGHT! (It’s all those things!) If we are simply here to shine our lights (and we wholeheartedly believe we are), then let's shine 'em as bright as we possibly can by letting go of the things that aren't serving us anymore to create more space for it to shine through our 🔥 hot bods 🔥.

For five glorious nights (Thursday, December 26th through Monday, December 30th), the unwittingly hilarious DINA MARTINA will blanket L.A.'s Dynasty Typewriter with holiday ridiculousness in THE DINA MARTINA CHRISTMAS SHOW. Martina's most recent L.A. shows in January 2024 brought about a robust public fervor, to put it mildly, and this hilarious Christmas show is expected to conjure even more delirium, with its mix of beautifully warbled songs, hysterically funny videos, pointless stories, and bizarre gifts for lucky audience members.
Over the years, Dina Martina has been hailed as "divinely funny" (Time Out London), "the most original drag performer in America today" (The Village Voice), "as graceful as a Coke machine moving about on a hand truck" (Seattle P-I), and has garnered a star-studded list of admirers including John Waters, Bridget Everett, Alan Cumming, Jennifer Coolidge, and Christopher Meloni.
